Okay, I am admittedly a total newb here.

Just took delivery of my first tractor. I have a few questions on how best to utilize the 1207 LP with scarifiers for my gravel drive.

For my first use, I did not need the scarifiers as the drive was not bad in the portion I tackled today. However, I could use some direction on how best to effectively use this LP to keep my curvy and hilly driveway rut free in the future.

1) For those old pros, is it best to keep the LP level or drop one side a bit (the right) to create a slight crown?

2) Best way to level the LP - sight, level, etc. I have iMatch hitch and telescoping lower links and am getting familiar with how to adjust three point hitch, but still a rookie:)

3) Do you set your lower links to float position or rigid? Manual says to keep it on rigid setting for ground engaging implements (and float for brush hogs, etc.). Its that little metal piece under each of the lower links. Found that in the manual:)

4) Do you lower your LP as low as it can go on 3 point for do you keep it elevated just a bit as you are moving?

Thanks in advance.

I'm interested in how you like it, is that plane heavy enough to prevent it from jumping on hard gravel?

:welcome: to TBN

Keep some crown in your drive the best way you can.. the land plane seems like a good choice. Play with the different settings to see what works good for you. Best to have water run to the sides and not down a wheel track.
Once worked up and leveled, I always felt it very important to drive over the gravel with the truck/car to pack everything tight before the gravel dries out and for sure before it gets a rain that washes out the fines.
Hopefully you have gravel that has fines, and not stuck with some areas that can only get gravel that is like a bed of marbles.. no way to pack it tight.

Hope you can put up some before and after pics.. the land plane sounds like a good attachment for what you want to do.
