mf 1010
My friend and I are trying to restore a 1010 that has sat for a very very long time (years). We have removed about every thing on the engine and area around it. We have the head removed and taken to an Arnold's Motor Parts, where it has been rebuilt. We tried to remove the engine from the frame and have every bolt, nut, screw, etc. that we can see. We have a chain hoist attached to a chain bolted to the block. We have tried to get the engine to come out but it won't budge!!!!!! We have the driveshaft to the front wheel assist loose but is still in place. We have tried to pry, from both sides, the place behind a steel plate that is attached to engine but to no avail. We can see the ring gear when we pry it just a bit but that is all. We need to get the engine out so that we can see why there is water on top of 2 of the cylindars. We don't know where the water came from-either snow, rain or ?????. The muffler was still on when we started so could be a head gasket or a cracked block or ???? Anyway, we can't seperate the tractor into 2 halves like we think it shoiuld do like bigger tractors. We plan on getting a service manual for this but would like to get the engine out so that we can look into it further.
Where can we get a complete service manual for this 1010 that is not so expensive? Or shouild we expect to pay alot for one?
Your help will be greatly appreciated as we are anxious to get more done on this and to get it running.
Tanx!!!!!
