The belts on my Swisher 66 Inch T2066 broke after about a year of use (in not that tall of grass) and I need to change them. I was hoping to do it myself like I do with my JD mid-mount mower belt, but this one isn't that easy. If anyone has ever changed one of these out, and advice is appreciated. The engine is mounted on top of the belt system so it looks like I have to take everything off to change it, but I'm hoping I'm wrong and there's a simpler way because that doesn't seem too user-friendly.

Just be sure to purchase the 2 equivalent replacement Kevlar Belts for this mower and you will have better luck.

That's a relief. I took off those 2 panels yesterday but those thrown back by the 2 belts (I've just had to change single belts before). I'm guessing I have to do the deck belt first and then put on the top belt second. Do I need to remove those belt guides? Thanks so much for helping, it is my busiest time in my apple orchard so it's not an ideal time for this to happen...but that's farming.

Thanks! Swisher doesn't carry those kevlar belts. Do you know where you can pick up the ones that will fit that Swisher?

I'm a few hours south of Sugar River. My orchard is about 10 minutes from the Wisconsin border near Lake Michigan.

I have a 66" finish mower and have had nothing but trouble with it, now on my 4th belt (50" middle one). I cut very slow and have tried various tensioner adjustments, it just subjects this belt to too much heat and or slipping and destroys it. Admittingly, a couple of the belts were from auto parts store, not oem, but they were lawn/garden belts. This product is not properly engineered for thick grass, even grass cut a week earlier. I think it would work ok for thinner grass, I am going to try regular blades vs the mulching ones on it now. Any other suggestions?

I am getting ready to buy a FC2066BS...Has anyone else had this problem with belts? Has changing blades to regular cut rather then Mulching Blades helped? I have 7 acres and grass is not short. Thanks.

I re-adjusted the tension to about 1/2" play when engaged and cleaned a lot of old grass from bottom of deck, so it seems to be working ok right now, set deck a little higher in rear. Replacement belt needs to be Swishers Kevlar type. This mower should not be used for grass higher than 5-7", if so, I would get some sort of trail mower. Hope that helps
