I added gasoline to fuel tank, I add about two gallons of gasoline to my fuel tank. Need to drain tank. How do I drain fuel tank on a Kubota BX2660 tractor?
Not familiar with the BX line but could you remove the settling bowl and fuel filter and let it drain into a container? Would be a little slow but should work.
bp fick posted as I typed, sorry for the doble post.
I use different colored zip ties on the handle of the can for gas, #2 diesel, #1 diesel, etc & write on the cans what each color is for. That way, when filling the cans with something different, just cut off the old zip tie & change to the appropriate color.
If you have crud in the bottom of your tank the following is what I have seen my dealer do.
First drain the tank or wait until there is very little fuel left in it.
Next get a shop vac, about 3' of water hose and some duct tape. Duct tape the water hose to the end of the shop vac nozzle with about 6" of overlap between the hoses.
Then open the fuel cap and start fishing the sludge out.
People have argued that this is unsafe, but I've seen it done multiple times. The Mythbusters even proved that it was hard to get a shop vac to explode while sucking up gasoline. (Gas is explosive, while diesel is only flammable.)
Is your tank clogged or what is the reason for cleaning it?
