Hey guys,

Been looking at this forum for a while. I'm pulling the trigger today on a tractor. Kubota L4400 with 6 ft FEL and one set of remotes or a Kiote DK 40 with 6 ft FEL and remotes. Both quick attach fel's The Kubota is only $ 130.00 more, so basically same price. Both are local, great dealers. What shoud I do? Is the Kubota 45hp? I know the Kiote is 41hp.

Thanks for everyone's input

Kubota, they've been around a long time and chances are they WILL be around a long time.

Quick story. I had a 1988 4500 that say for 10 years, I changed the battery, filled up the tires and it fired right up. I was going to sell it, I decided right then and there nope I'm keeping her.

Thanks, I'm kind of leaning that way, but wanted some extra input..

I'm also looking for a 6 or 7 ft finish mower to pull behind it... Any suggestions ???

Thanks,

I'd be a bit surprized if they were that close in price. Do they both have hst and 4x4?
Also, since I'd imagine the Kubota is quite a bit lighter, what will you be using it for? This could be a plus for hauling (lighter trailor) and for mowing, but not for FEL work and ground engaging stuff.
And of course, the loader at pivot pins for the kubota is MUCH less than the kioti. 1800lbs vs 2700lbs.

In the end, for the same price, I may still lean towards the kubota because of the name and parts availability. However, my kioti has not failed me and neither have the dealers.

Both are gear models. I don't want hydro. Kubota is $22,400.00.. Kiote is $22,270.00. Both are 4X4.. I've not checked the lifting capacity's. I figured they'd both be close. Which price are you surprized about??

I have 8 acres at my restaurant to mow and maintain, and also have a 50 acre hobby farm. 30 acres woods and 20 open. I have a 6 ft. grapple, 6 ft stone rake, 6 ft brush hog, 6 ft. disc. Mostly all level.

EDIT ** If I pay cash, I can get the Kiote for $17,600.00 because of the free loader promotion. If I take the 0% financing, the loader price is added. With the economy, I just feel like the cash in the bank right now is worth the extra $1,000.00 per year ( 4 year finance) to me.

Thanks, J.R.

If you finance through a different company you can still get the kioti for cash price. I used farm credit services and my interest rate was 5.6% It worked out to be cheaper than paying the extra for the tractor at 0% intrest. I bought a dk40 and it's been great so far

Pulled the trigger on the Kubota. It is 45hp. So, I was not comparing apples to apples, actually. The Kioti DK 45 would have been the fair comparison. I did not price one of those out, but I'm sure it would have been 2,000-3,000 more than the Kubota. $22,400.00 out the door. L4400, gear drive, 6 ft FEL with quick attach, one set of rear remotes, R4 Ind tires, loaded.

Also went with the 72" Land Pride finish mower.. $2,200.00

Thanks for the help...

Congrats on your new tractor.
My neighbor has a Kubota L4400 with the 6-ft FEL. It's a nice, quiet machine.
I owned a new 2005 Kubota B7510HST and had no problems at all with it. Traded it in last year with about 180 hours on it for a 2008 Mahindra 5525 with the ML250 FEL (6-ft bucket).

Congrats!

I know you will be pleased with your purchase! Also, I don't know if you would consider, but your tractor could easily run an 84" RFM if size does matter. We ran an 84" MMM on our TC40D.
