Kubota's - B7610, M4700
I just got my B7610 back from my son. He's normally pretty good on checking fluids etc.
But today I went to use the 3 point and accidentally bumped it into "raise" position, where it sat for a minute or so. It dumped like what looked like a lot of fluid, probably a half pint at least.
Yet when I check with the blasted gauge (dipstick under front of seat) it still seems full. (my method of checking the dipstick is to wipe it off, then push in/pull out and lay on fabric so I know how much oil is there).
When I pull the cap to the fill port I can see oil in the bottom, and sticking the only clean rod I could find showed at least an inch in the bottom (didn't want to lose the rod).
I'm suspecting the vent tub may be clogged, but I REALLY need the tractor for about 1 hour tomorrow and have commitments tonight.

Reading on the web I see reports of mud daubers clogging overflow and I'm not trusting the dipstick.

So now I'm concerned that the dipstick is not reading right and would like to know how full I should fill the reservoir.

The dipstick is probably correct and yes, a clogged vent can cause overflow. The only reason a dipstick would be incorrect is probably if you have the wrong dipstick.

Your B7610 holds 16 quarts of hydraulic fluid. A half pint will hardly register on the dipstick. Just fill it to the "full" line.

You do need to find out where & why the oil is leaking though.

Thanks. Since the FEL, 3 point and drive all seem to work my panic has subsided.

I suspect my son did not use it much.

Update -
Well I added more fluid and maybe got it slightly overfilled. It's just a tad over the "full" bar (that's a metric "tad")
But to answer:
"how full I should fill the reservoir."
I put hydro in to about 8.25" below the top of the fill hole.
/edit
Somewhere I read a poster recommending filling it to the top of the fill hole, that would have been a LOT more.

Just fill to the full line on the dipstick and forget about the amount of fluid at the fill hole.

Just to "wrap up".
Finally took out and replaced the hydro line, there was a small tear in the line about half way along the length. But because of the fabric covering the line it didn't show a leak where it was torn.

Ive been told a few times by my local dealerships that its perfectly fine to overfill them and they actually recommend it to quiet down some of the noisy hst models a little bit so i usually put in a few extra quarts in case i lose some for any reason, but i dont know if that applies to all models.
