Help on Kia suv

My inlaws have about a 2005 kia, the suv, not the huge one but the next down, but not the small sportage either. Its got about 77k miles on it.

She has had a problem with it cutting off when she pulls to a stop sign or light every now and then not constantly. Also said it wil hesitate sometimes upon acceleraction from a stop. Also will sound like its gear hunting at highway speeds from time to time. I of course could not replicate any circumstance nor could the shop she took it to. She does not have a check engine light on and said one has not come on. The light does work as its there with just Key on engine off. OH when it cuts off she says its always quick to crank except this last time it took multiple seconds to fire.

I have not tried to pull any hidden codes yet but would of thoght the shop would have and they said nothing. I will check here in a bit.

Another shop told her kia's sometimes end up with bad crank sensors???

My guess obviously is a sensor, cam crank or TPS but without replicating anything or even getting a code to start looking i have no idea.

Any Kia gurus out there, i have not even changed oil on one let alone eveer known anyone with one.

OK finially able to get it to skip or Miss. Its an intermitant miss when it does it then runs fine. Code blinked and is the Camshaft postition sensor. Looking into replacing it now. Appears to not be to bad but kind of is a pain.
