Hi everyone,

Need some help. I was using my MF GC2310 and all of a sudden all my hydaulics stopped working. I looked for the sight glass at the back and it seems full. Also checked to see if there was a leak anywhere and nothing. There is no odd noise or anything out of the ordinary. I was using the backhoe and started using the loader and it all just all stopped working. Any ideas what I can check for, I live at least 2 hours away from a dealer and do not know what to look for.
Thanks for the help,

Combanx

First, welcome to TBN. Second, if you have quarter inching valve for 3-point hitch, make sure it's centered and not stuck in the "up" position. If you have position control... never mind.

Check all quick connects. They may look connected but may not be. It can stop the flow and stop all of the hyds. If the tractor sounds like it is loaded when it is not doing anything you have a blockage in the hyds. some where.

Yup, the #1 problem when this happens is one of the QD's (quick disconnects) for the backhoe is partially disconnected.

I recently fixed my 1428v which had the same problem. It ended up being the o-rings in the loader valve. was tough to figure out. I ended up bypassing the loader valve and after that the 3 pt was working fine. Was easy to rebuild with new o-rings. Good luck

Thanks in advance for keeping us all posted, and welcome to TBN!

Question: When you said that you had "no hydraulics," do you mean you also have no motive power? Will the tractor still drive around? (They are all on the same system, same fluid, same pump....) How many hours are on the tractor?

Approximately where are you located? There may be someone nearby to assist--

Hi There,

Well it snowed a **** of alot last night, about a foot. We live in Haliburton Ontario Canada. Ski and cottage country. I will be headed to the garage in about 30 minutes. Yes the tractor still drives around. I was digging a hole with the backhoe just before the hydraulics stopped working. I hope it is not the pump. You said the drive uses the same pump....thank god I was worried it was the pump. I will start taking everthing apart step by step and will let you know. I have about 250hrs on it. When it had it first service I loaded it up on a trailer and when I was driving it off it slipped and broke off the hdro filter. It also snapped part of the pce that the filter screws on. The dealer replaced the filter with one that was a little different. The Massey one was too recessed to catch the thread part. But this is not what is causing this issue. I am just telling everyone that it is a poor design down there and a skid plate would be great to have.
I will post as soon as I find out what the issue is.

. I am just telling everyone that it is a poor design down there and a skid plate would be great to have.

That information is 6 years too late for most of us.

Had you been here sooner, most of us would have advised you to do your own service, and your incident would have never happened.

Since you took it to the dealer, you should ask them why they did not suggest, and install the shield that Massey makes to protect the filter, part #79026385?

Apparently you bought one that was produced before the fix, and had not been retrofitted. In either the second or third year of production, the shields were installed on the new machines from the factory.

Kubota also went through a similar problem, the fix they usually use to repair the broken filter mount on the GC's, is actually a Kubota part.

Clearly the fluid is not getting to the hydraulics, I would not rule out an obstruction in the line, from the filter incident.
