Help needed ! front axle vent plug replacement

okk so the vent plug on the front axle of our 2007 Mahindra 2615 4wd got a tear in it and was leaking oil,got the old plug out after struggling with it for about 1 hour or so now I need to replace the plug but can't get it in. Is there any easy way to get this thing in, there is very little space no access from top either. Can't tell if the piece it goes into threads into the axle or not .ANY help is greatly appreciated. It also is for a Cub cadet and some other tractors .

No first hand knowledge, but generally if the plug is rubber, then it’s just pushed in and out.

Maybe put a little bit of wd40 of the portion that gets inserted. If the plug isn’t very flexible because it’s cold outside, get it warmed up inside first.

If you can set it in the plug hole, but can’t get leverage to push it in, use a long screwdriver or something to lay across the top and slowly press down.

I wish it was the oil plug lol this vent plug goes on top of a vertical pipe that is approx 3" high and the access is very tight. We have no room to put any down pressure on it because of the access to it so we have decided to try a fix we came up with on our own .If it doesn't leak we are one set of happy campers .
