Kubota L-39
Getting ready to get a new L3240 in a few weeks and need some help mostly with the rear remotes. Here is what I want
L3240
724 FEL w/ QA
3rd. function valve
H.D. bucket
3 rear remotes
Top N tilt

My question is Kubota offers two kinds of remotes from what I can tell std. and float. What is the difference between them? I obviously want to control the top n tilt and figure the third for controlling angle for a rear blade /rake. Another dumb question I have is on there web site they have a draft control option, what is this? Sorry for the possibly dumb questions but hydraulics baffle me.

Does anyone have any pictures of factory installed remotes and 3rd. function valve on there 3240 or other. In the kubota brochure It shows three empty slots to the right of the seat Is this where the remotes would install or are they for something else. I would also like to see what the 3 rd funtion control from kubota looks like I asked my dealer and he said it was a separate lever but that dosnt sound right I think he might have misunderstood me and was talking about the remotes.

Sorry I can't help you with your questions, since I'm a newbie to tractors, but can you explaine to me why I may want more remotes? And also what is
the Top-N-tilt option?

The top n tilt replaces the top and side link with a hydraulic cylinder. So you can control them from the seat of the tractor. No more hoping off the tractor twisting the links to make adjustments. So you will need at least two rear remotes for the top n tilt kit. It only makes sense to me to go ahead and get the third at the same time and be done. The third would be to control the angle for a landscape rake/rear blade or hydraulic controlled scariffiers on a box blade. Those are the things that jump out at me but I'm sure there are alot of other uses.

Thanks for explaining this, all new too me... I figured these tractors came with all the mechanical attachments I needed to put on the implements, but I'm finding out that ain't neccessarily so:confused:

Appreciate all the help this forum has to offer someone new too tractors.

You can still hook up the implements and adjust them the top n tilt just makes it easier and quicker, also you can adjust on the fly. Just like anything that makes your life easier costs money. Wish I knew about these things when I bought my 1st tractor. I think Kubota would make more money if they took the time to explain these things on there web-site. I think a lot of noobs would purchase these items if they knew about them and understood there application. Hello Kubota are you reading this.

If you get the Top-N-Tilt option can use still use a quick hitch?

Not sure what you mean by quick hitch. There are several different types out there. The speeco type, pats, delta and I'm sure there are more. The top n tilt is basically just a hydraulic top and side link so it should not interfere with a quick hitch. The 3240 has the telescoping lower links so from my understanding a quick hitch is not needed but I have not owned a tractor with them yet.

afish,

I think your list looks pretty good. I wish I had gotten some remotes and the 3rd function valve...to do it now means paying for the labor to install. Oh well...I'll wait until I need them...

A couple weeks ago, I asked at Rosy's about the 3rd function valve - it sounds like they aren't yet aware of the integral buttons in the loader joystick. If/when you order from there, you might have to push a bit.

I saw in another thread that you stopped at the NH dealer - did you pick up a set of those Bradco QA forks while you were there?

SHHHHH! I'm keeping that little stop in at the NH dealer on the down low for now on:D No I didnt pick up those forks forgot all about it. I'm still trying to figure out what I want first it was 3240 then I was thinking about trying to get into the 4240 for the bigger loader but its about 5,000 more so I dont know if I can swing it past the CFO. I'm giving her a little bit of time, after getting the approval on the 3240 before I spring that on her. I will most likely fab up my own forks since I do alot of metal fab at work. I'm keeping my eyes open for a set of forks off of a hi-lo. How long are those forks you got from Munn(42"-48")
I saw a set of 42" for $100

I think if I were you I would just put on a after market set of rear remotes dosn't look all that hard and you would save a bunch of cash.

Yea I saw someone else just bought a 3240 (man that cab looks cozy for those snow days) with rears and 3rd function so I finally got to see what it should look like. So when I do get everything going at least I know what I should be getting. I was surprised not a single 3rd function on any of the tractors at Rosy Bros lot. I guess they dont sell alot of them(3rd function)

I did the same options on my L5740. They add alot to the cost.....But after using these features, I am not looking back. If you are doing ANY landscaping or driveway shaping, top and tilt is a must have IMO. You can get by without it, sure, but its a PITA. Third remote is also nice if you have top and tilt as the T-N-T ties up two remote circuits. Not sure if anyone answered this yet or not but the "float" option is a detented valve so that you can leave it in the on position. This function is nice if you are using an implement that requires a constant hydraulic flow, like if you were running a hydraulic motor on an attachment.
