The tractor recently had a sudden loss of power, probably 50% worth.
It runs very rough, like the choke was pulled on a gas engine.
It smooths out a bit under load, but not much.
At wide open throttle out of gear, RPMs are only about 1300.
If the throttle is closed, the engine slows down and cuts off instead of going to idle speed.
It's hard to start too and requires ether to get going.

Here's what I've tested so far:
Battery is strong and turns over engine at good speed.
Fuel strainer is clean. Fuel tank is clean.
Fuel filter replaced.
There is a good strong flow of fuel to the injector pump.
Air cleaner is clean.
No restricted exhaust.
Injector pump and injectors are less than one year old.
Injector pump cutoff is in on ON/running position
I cracked each injector line one at a time while engine was idling and got noticeable RPM drop for each one.
Fuel system has been bled.
I tried tapping the injector pump with a hammer to see if anything was stuck inside, did not help.
Throttle linkage is connected correctly.
Any ideas on this? Is it the injector pump? I cannot figure this one out.

Just curious, 3 or 4 cyl, if a 3, simms pump?

So each cyl DID effect rpm?

Back to the 3/4 cyl before I toss out more ideas. If it is a roosa pump, the gov ring migh be gone and that sends pieces everywhere, and reduces governed throttle control and response.

It's the 3cylinder engine using the CAV pump.
Disconnecting each injector line one at a time whilst at idle speed did cause what seemed to an equal RPM drop.
The pump is about 1 year old now. I check the pump's internal filter and it's clean.
Tried to start it again, and not getting any results from it. Pump is bled, fuel tank fuel, but only runs on ether through the air cleaner.
I suspect some internal injector pump problem.

is the stop pulled and stuck? even just at the pump?
