My L39 tlb is coming up for it's 50 hr. service. I talked to two different dealers and one told me that all fluids needed to be drained and replaced + filters and the other said only the filters need to be changed. Which is it?

Thanks!

Agreed, follow manual.

L39, that's Kubota right?

Nice machine.

Change all the fluids and oil filters.did mine at about 20 hours, you don't know whats in there, probably nothing to hurt anything if fluid looks good on dipstick, but its peace of mind and you gotta do it sooner or later anyways.

All fluids and filters for sure.

Ditto on all filters and fluids.

As for following the manual, I have a DK45se HST and my manual is full of errors including "drain the fluid and run engine for several minutes". It never tells you to add fluid. :) In the front of the manual it says to use 15w40 oil. In the maintenance section is says to use 10w30 or 10w40. The pictures don't match my tractor at all even though it is the correct manual for my tractor. It never refers to the hydraulic filter except for non-HST units.

It really tells me a lot about Kioti to sell such an expensive piece of equipment and have such poor documentation. There is no excuse for it.

And, as has been said before, the hydraulic filter is painted on. You'll think it's welded on. :) I broke a new plier type oil filter wrench before getting ticked off and driving a screw driver through it and actually bending the shaft on the screw driver before it finally broke loose.

But, the 50 hr is done after about 1/2 day of frustration.

I feel better now. :)

My dealer says I can do the filters myself and since the hydraulic pump reservoir holds close to 15 GALLONS of fluid to just check the color, and do the filters change at the 50 hr. service. He says, and he's been selling/servicing Kiotis for 20 years this year, that unless the hyd fluid is anything other than clear I will be fine for up to several years at which time it will have likely changed color due to some fluid breakdown and water infiltration. Obviously I'm not going to let it go several years, but I am considering having the dealer do the service of changing the filters and documenting it for warranty purposes, and for my peace of mind. Any thought, comments?

Haha I did the xact same thing! I broke the plier wrench the same day I bought it when I did my 50 hr service. Man those filters were tight! I ended up using a pair of those chain vice grip thingys:D

Sorry, I meant to post this in the Kubota section; no wonder I couldn't find it. Thanks for the replies.
