Hi folks,
Today I was using my B7500 which was working fine. Turned it off. Came back 2 minutes later and it will not even turn over. When I turn the key one light comes on the dash and that's it. I pulled the battery and had it checked and charged and its fine. Tomorrow I'm cleaning all the terminals and reinstalling. If that doesn't fix it though...
What else could it be and how to check ? I have always been suspect of the push-pull on-off lever just because it is so hard to push, and the key switch just because of feel but have never had a problem with them. And it seems like the "hi and low" speed lever and the PTO speed lever only seem to go into one position but I may be imagining that.
Are there any fuses to check ? Or a deadman's seat switch to check ? And it looks like to pull the cowling off to check wiring, etc. may be a nightmare as it seems you have to pull the steering wheel to get it off ?
I have <never> had trouble with the engine or starting before.
This couldn't come at a worse time as I need to get ready for seeding in the next week or two.
Any troubleshooting help would be MOST appreciated. I don't think I can get a Kubota mechanic out here and with the FEL down I can't imagine how to even get it on a trailer pushing or pulling with a truck or come-alongs and might have to take the FEL off...

I'm not familiar with the 7500 but it sounds like a safety switch. I would take a look to see if a wire was damaged by a stick or something. Do you have to push your clutch in or turn off your PTO to start the tractor? If so those would be switches I would look at.

Sounds like the whatchamacall it switch is ka poohy. It's right below the seat on the left side. I unplugged mine, stuck a 12/14 guage wire in it and ta da good as new. I picked up the new switch and for past 2-3 years I've been planning on installing it!!! The ol' wire is still there.

Several posts on the WORLD'S GREATEST FORUM on how to fix it....

Check Clutch Switch and PTO switch.. by the way the PTO lever has a mechanical lockout lever, to choose the 540 or the 960? I think it was., I put a tyewrap on it so that it would never get into the mid PTO setting.. I dont think that has anything to do with your no crank problem, I think that is likely a safety switch problem, The shut off knob you mentioned is mechanical also, and it was always a little stiff but has nothing to do with cranking the engine, of course if you shut off the fuel, the tractor wont start, but you are describing a no crank situation not a no start fault. Sorry I cannot be more help, I haven't owned a tractor like that in almost a year, and I may have forgotten something, but I would check those 2 switches first before I tore anything apart.

Does starter solenoid click like it is trying to engage? or absolutely nothing. If nothing, you likely have a stuck or bad safety switch. If starter clicks but won't turn you may have same thing my B8200 did last week - starter Bendix was stuck in flywheel. That's not bad to fix, just loosen starter up and pull it out then reinstall it.

Thanks all for responding. I've located the clutch and PTO safety momentary switches but for the life of me I cannot seem to see a seat switch on the left (I assume as you are sitting on the seat). Any more specific directions where to look ? And I assume these are normally open, so you short across the socket you unplugged the switch from with a wire for all these safety switches to diagnose, correct ? I discovered I was very low on transmission fluid and wondered if there was also a low fluid safety switch, but filled it up and no dice. And with a recharged battery, still no crank. Anything else to try ? Is it likely the ignition switch is funky ? To check, how do you take the plastic dash panel cowling off ? I saw one retention screw at the top, but it looks like you gotta pull the steering wheel to get it off (and maybe the throttle lever and some more stuff)...

I have a B7500 and there is no seat switch like the newer tractors . I can get off the seat with the tractor running with out applying the parking brake and the tractor will continue to run ( if the pto is engaged it won't restart ) .

Hope you find out what is wrong . good luck
