IS there any way to repair or reconfigure the attachment point of the lift arm where it attaches to the tractor.

I have a Jinma 2430 tractor, was doing some tilling when I noticed the tiller was skewed. Checked the lift arm and found it was not attached to the tractor. Closer inspection revealed that the retaining pin was gone and the cast iron tang (that holds the pin on one side) was broken off. Is there anyway to repair this without replacing the complete cast iron assembly?

Thanks for any advice,

To get a good answer, post a picture of it. From what I picture in my mind, this is going to get pretty involved, as in requiring some machining. Fair amount of stress in this area.

Thanks for the reply! Unfortunately the tractor is 100 miles away so I can't take a pic right now but I'll try to get a diagram.

Thanks Tommy, that's what I kind of figured. I was just hoping that someone had a similar experience and had some fix (not hoping that anyone would break their tractor).

Any rough idea whet the casting would cost? It's the outer boss that broke and it's on the rear wheel axle housing.

Looks like the pin got loose and backed out stressing the boss.

Tommy is that for the complete housing and internals or just the empty cast iron housing?

Just want to scope out the work load and difficulty of changing it. Nice if it was just a simple bolt-off, bolt-on project.

Is the part that you broke on your tractor the 'tab' that is in the the lower middle of the image in the link? If so, I see some potential here for a fabricated bolt on solution.

Yes it's "tab" that broke. I would imagine one could fabricate a bolt-on solution, just hoping that someone already had . Will bring the tractor home soon, it'll give me a better opportunity to evaluate all my options.

Yeah, I think if you just stare at it for a while a bolt on solution will make sense. At this point, what do have to lose? It would sure beat having to replace the casting! Some people might say you could weld that but I'd recommend not going that route.
