Up northern calif, since the carr fire ive had quite a bit of damage around my place. 2 houses out of 30 were spared and mine was one of the two. Im getting older and cannot see my self digging and carrying on like i was when i was younger and built the house 18 years ago. I have some culverts and alot trees and shrubs , burn piles etc. The soil is pretty workable. The neighbor has a 10 year old mahindra 2015 with backhoe and it just plain makes the work easy.
Looking hard for a sub compact with a backhoe. I could get a phd as well. Im on 1.25 acres rarely flat and no lawn. After looking and reviewing i could go with most any on the brands. In my area for a fel and bh model not counting tax, 1025r and bx23s are 20.5k, kioti, nh and branson are 18.5, and the mt125 is 15.8. I had thought i wanted the 1025r but after seeing the loader operate (jd cant curl and lift or lower at the same time) compared to the bs23s and the same price i liked the orange. Jd and kabota dealer was helpful and witin 10 miles. After seeing videos of the ls mt125 online i was coming home from sacramento and detoured to see the tractor. I was very impressed with the tractor. No tilt wheel, but the vert and horiz adjustment made it very comfortable.
My issue is the ls is 5k less than the jd or kabota and i dont see the value difference there. I like the ls. I spoke to the local kabota dealer and told him this, i said id go up to 3k more (id hate to) for the orange but not 5k. Im a civil engineer and ive been around alot of construction equipment and based on the ls build, motor and backhoe contraction etc i cant get there. Now for resale etc, when all my work is done in 2 or 3 years i could sale it and id go 2 or 3k max to have the resale factor. Dealer tells me his price is 19.4 on the bx23... its hard to believe as i read on the forum some getting 18.5 price on bx23s backhoe.. im in sacramento for work and i called and they were suppose to send me a quote but never did, they knew the dealer in my area. I need to stop in and see what they could do.
Whats up with the price in n calif? I can reach up into oregon, 2.5 hours, inlaws live in or. Is there a better time to buy a tractor, like new model years?
Thanks for any inpit.
