Wishing you all ,this is Prabhakar from Bombay,India but into agriculture in a remote village thousands of miles away ,a place with very little modernization and development.I have taken up agriculture for a livelihood after retirement. Had a princely life in service, fiercely independent and did duty the way it has to be done and when left the service, very little in the pocket, a neglected family.(I am conscious that this shall be viewed by many at various corners of mother earth and this is not to blow my trumpet, but a honest statement of introduction.). I own a 1962 Massey Ferguson and looking at this every one laughed at me and concluded that I was a big fool but the machine proved other wise. A robust machine and takes a lot of beating with a smile. The tractor has many small problems and for long depended on the mechanics in the small villages and every time lost money right from changing the oils(spurious ones), to other works and reached a situation when I felt, enough is enough.
What a coincidence that all my vehicles have gone dead more or less at the same time. This was the time, I was toying with the idea of bringing my 1993 accord in ruins, to life and joined a U.K club for the Honda and my goodness, I could not believe it, ran into someone there, who took care of me as if I am a small boy and the reassurance he gave me brought the fighting spirit in me. At this time my piaggio Auto developed starting problems, a piaggio scooter and the Tractor developed major problems due to severe rains and now even my Motor cycle refuses to start and I assessed this to low compression.
With the small gesture at the Honda club ignited by my strong resolution to beat it, wading through the internet where many good samaritans have left many useful things suiting my purpose, started working on doing things myself and am inching towards self reliance and the confidence to make all my machines work, save money and may be able to contribute or pass on a little of that to others. For tackling the problems of my tractor, I started searching the net and google landed me here. My purpose is to gain some knowledge about my tractor and maintain it properly and may be even beautify her. Most of the time when I seek any help for matters like repair/service manuals, I specify that I need something that comes free. Not that I cannot afford and I always remember a great indian, Baba Amte, who used to say -Charity destroys character. At the same time, I do not have a paying mechanism as Banks and credit cards are not in my reach,no one accepts payment of indian rupees etc.. When any member gives me such a benefit like a free manual, without much noise, I shall pay any equivalent money locally to any good cause like for the welfare of the blind or contributions to poor students and it is a commitment.
Partially a failure in agriculture too, lost a lot of money in the initial stages, but managed to survive, made a barren land of 8 acres into a good land and acquired another 30 acres .Starting developing this land. I wish I would not fail in this and once I achieve this, may be in another 12 months time, I intend to pay back the society by way of a community service, lot of plantations at my cost, at least one clean drinking water plant at my cost and may be take up similar activities.
Trust that the club will be happy with me and with regards to all.
