Just wanted to say howdy. I just bought a 60 acre farm here in Alabama and I am sorta clueless when it comes to tractors so I hope to learn a lot from this community. Thanks!

The minimum weight tractor you will need is 4,000 pounds bare tractor weight.

Depending on what you grow a tractor of 5,000 pounds or 6,000 pounds bare tractor weight may be more appropriate.

When considering a tractor purchase, bare tractor weight first, tractor horsepower second, rear axle width third, rear wheel/tire ballast fourth.

Every major make has a machine that will do the job(s) you want. Check out your nearby dealers, and go with one you have confidence in.

A great machine with no support nearby is a hastle to repair and maintain. A good machine can't make a lousy dealer into a good one.
