Hdro fluid levels

Fellas,

I have the 2305. To check the fluid levels you use the little sight glass which is on the back of the tractor where you have to practically stand on your head to see it. My question is: What position should the FEL and 3PH be in when checking? When all of the rams are extended, i.e. with the bucket in the full dump position resting on the ground, the level seems low, but if I park it with the bucket level on the ground it looks fine.

I have a question, does it get checked cold or just after running it ? I think it would be different

I generally check cold, before startup as part of my PMI. Guess that leads to the question; What position should the FEL be in when parked?

Got it, I always park with both ends lowered. Should the bucket be in the full dump position, ("upside down"), or with the bottom of the bucket flat on the ground?

I do not think the curl cylinders hold enough fluid to matter, but I just put the bucket flat on the ground like a always park it anyway.

I have a new 2305 and I noticed that same thing, when running the tractor or pressure in the FEL lines the sight glass shows no fluid but when the FEL is down and the machine is off, I am at about 1/2 on the sight glass.

I wanted to buy a quart of fluid to top it off when needed. The manual states that the fluid from the factory was J20C. My dealer only has the low-vis J20D. Can I top off the factory-filled J20C with J20D low-vis or should I try to find the J20C?
