Not really, but....

I just finished building this 2' X 8' bench for the (future) sheet metal/blacksmithing area of my shop..

BukitCase (Steve) having seen the partially finished version sarcastically commented that it would be better suited for an entertainment center. hmmmm....Also I was always envious of ovrszd's (Richard's) Christmas layout for HIS shop.

So thank you to ALL fellow TBN'ers for giving me inspiration for adding a "fun" area to MY shop.

OK, in my defense it was not INTENDED to be anything but a "man compliment" from a guy whose last 35 years before retirement were in (literally) Heavy Metal Industrial Maintenance - Following is the EXACT text from that "sarcastic" comment, I feel I have NO CHOICE but to put it up to a VOTE - so here's what I said -

"Wow, that's gonna be one cool-*** bench...

So now all you got left to do is SHEAR the pieces of 16 ga. for those 8 custom drawers, tig 'em all together with lay wire method (for smoothness), forge some EQUALLY COOL drawer pulls, RIVET 'em on the fronts with handmade nails, realize it's TOO COOL for a workbench, find an 80" flatscreen and turn the bench into an entertainment center (AFTER you fix your stereo of course), and.....

Oh WAIT, I'm "projecting" again - sorry...."

Soooo, what say you, fellow TBN'ers? Cutting remark, or Cool-*** Compliment? (Enquiring minds wanna know :laughing ...Steve

I think you should add steps on the end by the pole. Otherwise looks great and heavy duty.

Yes, and thanks. They would have been a nice touch on the end with the hand rail, but building steps is WAY above my pay grade.
