I've been planning to build a hay caddie for my disc mower .. Been getting the parts together and got a start Sunday .. The main frame is 3x6x1/4 .. I'm to the point where I'm wrapping my brain around the lift arms and the hydraulics .. I still need a slip clutch, PTO shaft, pillow bearing and a very long top link .. I'll get it.

Looks great how well does it work? something like that would work for my sub compact Massey with a sickle bar mower.

Okaaaay, I am calling myself out here as a doofus. When you said hay caddie I was picturing something for the baler to create hay bale piles or to transfer the bales to a trailer. I had to google it to find out what a hay mower caddier was. Now that I know what I am looking at it makes total sense. Nice build though, the caddie looks like an original part of the mower it blends in so well. Nice workmanship.

OK but why ??? now you have to fiddle around trees and in corners to get your land clean...

I believe the two reasons are ... First I don't have to hook to the three point just back up, drop in a hitch pin plug in the hydraulics and go .. Second it takes the weight off the tractor.

As for trees my hay fields don't have trees in them .. If they did have I'd just go all the way around them cause the cutter hangs out to the side ... Same for the corners
