Tires Have a tire problem with B2150

Hello all. I have a B2150 that has slightly oversized tires that were installed by the previous owner. Current size is 24x8.50-12" front and 13.6x16 rears. All are turf tires and use chains on the front for snow removal. The fronts hjave beed plugged several times and are very dry rotted. The 1 front needs air every time I use the tractor and the other front is almost as bad. Original tire sizes were 6.50x10 front and 12.4x16 rear. Rears are in good shape, but need front tires. Have checked around and found that they discontinued 24x8.5-12's. I'm told that I need to buy new rears and front wheels and tires for many $$$. Anybody know any cheaper solutions? TIA

When I click on the link, it shows ATV tires and when I remove the comma to show 24x8.5 12 it only shows chains for a ATV. When I asked a dealership that sold the tractor (years ago) new about swapping the front tires to R4's, they said to do that with the 4x4 tractor I would have to replace all the wheels and tires to make sure that diameters worked with the 4x4. The rears don't link and are loaded so didn't do that at the time. They had take offs that would work, but $1200 was out of my budget. I wanted to change to R4's due to the turf tires slipping in damp conditions when trying to turn.

I was told that with the plugs in the tires(original owner was building a new house and plugged the fronts more than a couple of times) they said the plugs would ruin the tubes. correct?

I am not a tire expert. All or most of your size front tires on eBay should fit your current rims. A 1/2" variation in width is not going to make much difference. Tire inflation can make 1/2" difference.

Rubber on the ground is generic. Nothing special about ATV tires compared to tractor tires if the tire size is appropriate for your rims.

The numbers 24-8.5-12 represent the dimensions of the tire. The first number is the height, the second number is the width & the third number is the diameter of rim that it will fit on.

Likely more alternatives on Amazon.

I know for a fact that when the tire gets low in air (1/2"?) that it gets stuck in 4x4 and will not come out till the load is taken off by raising/unloading the front tires by lifting off the ground with the bucket. Just low air pressure causes excessive binding of the 4x4 so a 9.5 or a different type tread would be even worse, no?

Consider that the tires now on your rims may not actually be the proper size for the rims.
Who knows what the prior owner did? Consider taking one of your existing front wheel/tires to a competent tire shop and having it measured.

Your current tires are likely much less supple than new tires, which could make the difference.

The tire size is stamped on the wheel and matches the size on the sidewall so I'm sure the wheel and tire match.
