Buying Advice has anyone bought a new modern ag

i was looking to buy a rotary cutter for my field grass. I have looked around and have decided to purchase new. everything off crags list has been either rusted out or beat to death. i am sure there are deals out there but i am going to pull the trigger. so with that said has anyone used a MODERN AG brand mower.
in my looking around it looks like they r built like a tank and that galvanizing looks like it would be the way to help it last for years. It will be stored inside and all i have is two acres to mow, that are flat and stone free. but i want it to last none the less. I have went to local NH dealer and seen the unit but i would like some input form people who have owned them.

There was a thread here on TBN from several years ago about Modern Ag mowers. Several owners said they were satisfied with them.

FWIW, I never hear anything bad about them and I'd short-list them should I be looking a new cutter.

I have a Dragon (same company) 5' box blade and it's an overbuilt hunk of iron hanging off the back of the little 8n.

I just purchased one, I got the 6' compeditor for $1400.00 better built than alot I have seen and owned. I had a Massey-ferguson ran it 1.5 yrs. piece of crap. got a frontier (green) great cut w/ high lift blades, ran it 2.5 yrs. traided it in when I got my new mowing rig, I would buy another if I had too.
The modern Ag is just a beefyer machine and I like it. we'll see after 1st. yr. cutting.
In your case with what you are mowing, you should get 20 yrs out of one for sure.

but I mow everything under the sun with mine. Modern gived their deck a 10 yr. warrentee.

the modern ag is a great mower. the galvanized is great and you get a 10 year rust warranty. depending on the modle you either get a 2,3 or 5 year gear box. but the mower is 7 gauge steel plus the galvanize, so it is built good and it is welded completely on all the welds, not spot weld. A lot of municipalities here in Texas are buying them for their road crews and cities.

Also, just FYI Modern is making the mowers for New Holland and Case now. THis spring the New Holland mower will be galvanized too, have a 12 year rust warranty and 5 year gear box no model what size it is!!

Here is a recent thread under attachments on Modern Ag. As I mentioned in that thread, I don't care for the hitch design. I will try to get a photo posted up to show what my issue is. Other than that, the mower will probably be around longer than I will be.

What do you mean by not liking hitch design. I thought they all were cat 1. Are they wimpy or harder to hook up. I am new to all this so any info is very helpful. Thank you all for posting it is nice to be able tap into such wealth of information. Before you you make a purchase. In my neck of the woods here in Portland. The price is $1430 for a galvanized 5' competerrrr model. I know that's an odd name but that's what they call it.
