Harrow Rake Grass Seed

I'm looking for an implement to do very final light soil grading AND after seed run over it to lightly cover the seed for a smooth finish. The Harrow Rake seems to get rave reviews, but will it be too aggressive for that final finishing after seed? Otherwise, seems like a chain fence style drag could work. I'm looking for best implement for the job. It's worth noting I'll either pull this behind my 18 HP Lawn Tractor or my ATV. I'm note planning on using my 48 HP compact tractor for this finishing work, too big and heavy. thank you

All mat harrows have three degrees of aggressiveness, depending on how they are oriented.

Rolling in fine seed will give superior germination over covering fine seed with a harrow. A cultipacker is optimal for rolling in small seed but an inexpensive poly roller is satisfactory.

For after seeding the harrow will bury the seed to deep for good germination- use a cultipacker

I think it kind of depends if you are "primary" seeding (bare, tilled ground) or "over seeding" (established grass or hay field) You will get a lesser germination percentage using most anything less than a seeder type machine to plant with.. But repeat applications of seed can be a lot cheaper than a costly one use, one pass seeder...

Just broadcast and leave it alone. They'll grow just fine.
