Rake harley rake for 2520 hst john deere

Hi Guys
wondering about a harley rake for a 2520 hst john deere the tm-4 48 " or the tm-5 60"

and being hst not shuttle shift im wondering about size of hills to depth of harley rake any experience or suggestions would be appreciated even on flat ground
depths achieved with around 26 hp

Can you rent one? Or, is this for a business related venture? Kinda limited home use... more or less a "one-time" exercise. Nonetheless, you'll have a pretty solid idea of whether you want/need one after working it for awhile.

I'd think the TM-$ would be fine: Harley Rake, Tractor PTO, TM-4 Series 4' Power Box Rake

But, I can't imagine owning one unless I could use it everyday to pay for it. When I built my house, I rented a RockHound (same but different) and a SSL for about $350 for a weekend.

I don't own a Harley rake but wish I did, the cost is keeping me from it for now. Unless you have plans in the near future for a larger tractor I would go with the 48" model over the 60" model. You should be able to get the same amount of work done with either HR behind the 2520 because the ground speed with the smaller width rake would be faster. I also think the 60" would be more of a strain on your tractor too.

I agree with the others that renting if the work is of limited scope would be a more economical choice too..

Seems like the extra width would make leveling easier, even if you did have to go slower.

If you're not completely burying it, I won't think you'd need all that much power to turn a Harley rake. I can run a 60" tiller on my 2520, and tilling seems like way more work than just grinding the surface of the ground. Right?

Just asking because I'm interested in getting a Harley rake too.
