Hey! You guys almost make this a day worth remembering!

I'm printing out this thread to show the family one of the many reasons I hang out on this forum so much. Of course, I don't know how many of you are laughing with me or laughing at me for chalking up another year on this planet, but I'll try to put a positive spin on it. /w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif

Been testing my own will power the last couple of days. I think I'm less than an hour away from opening my big present - a genuine, authentic, autographed, collector quality, imported all the way from the east coast TBN hat!!!

At least I think that's what's in the box I wrapped.

What wierded me out was not passing the half-century mark (I was 51 in February), but getting an invitation to join AARP /w3tcompact/icons/shocked.gif.

I haven't quite gotten where you guys have yet the with half Century Mark. I'm still getting ID at Kmart and then offered the senior discount at the grocery store. Life is great. Makes no sense at all. /w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif

Well, the celebration is over, and as much as I tried to play it down, the family came up with a little something, as always.

My wife knows the shortcut to my heart and prepared a fabulous barbecued rib-eye steak dinner with all the trimmings (it don't get any better than that for me) and then gifted me with some much needed summer clothes (in case the weather ever gets back to normal /w3tcompact/icons/tongue.gif).

The kids gave me some little homemade doodads (not sure what they are, but I will cherish them to my dying day), and cards to match.

The attached pictures show just a few of the highlights.

Thanks to all who got sucked into this thread.

I like the drawings! I got a kick out of "Birthling" and noticed that your tractor got a full roll cage and ags on the back. Tell the kids great job on the drawings!!
