i wish i could help you out man, but i too am looking for some info on these viper teeth.

i am ordering new teeth for our 300U on our barko and trying to decide between the vipers and hammers. i have a few vipers i am going to install next week to see how they wear before i buy a whole set. i have even thought of putting half vipers and half hammers, to do that you have to install them in a certain order to maintain balance on the rotor.

The vipers should not last as long as hammers, but you only have to replace the tip each time which is cheaper then the entire tooth.

maybe someone can chime in that has used these teeth.

Also quadco and king kong make teeth for these heads.

The viper teeth are mainly deisgned for units under 200 HP as the teeth tend to wear faster on the high HP units. They also have carbide and hardened steel replacable tips for these units. The carbide will last about twice as long if not longer than the steel tips. The viper system allows for a faster cut and smaller diameter mulch and will save you money in the long run as you only have to buy the replacement tips.

I'm not sure it really matters but yes he is helpful. And yes the vipers will cut better than the carbides. I have not tried the hardened or carbide vipers but I wonder if they will stay together on the high hp machines, I knocked a few off on a smaller machine 140hp and could see the potential for damage to the primary part of the tooth very easily. Again it really depends on the material and area being mulched. In my opinion the viper tooth is not made to be used anywhere there is rocks, carbide tools are made for this. Just my $ 0.02
