I was running the box blade through the fenced in dog yard yesterday to scrape out the weeds, level it and prepare it for some Bermuda seed and I drug it right over the top of a rabbit nest. Two little bunnies, probably about a week old, survived the ordeal amazingly, I couldn't find any others dead or alive so I think they were it. We put them in a box so I could finish up the work and built them a new nest on the bare ground with some grass and sticks in the hopes that momma rabbit would still take care of them and this morning they were still there with full bellies so it looks like she did.
These little guys screamed very loudly when it happened, I had no problem hearing them over the tractor. I'm just glad it ended up OK, I'd have felt bad if I'd killed them accidentally.
