GT5000 stalls once you disengage brake/engage blades

I have a problem with my Craftsman GT5000 50" cut lawn tractor.
Once I have it running and try to either disengage the brake or engage the blades the engine stalls out.
What is causing this problem?

Without more info my first thought is the seat safety switch.

Did you ever figure this out? Mine just started doing this yesterday. The only thing I checked is the seat switch and that isn't the problem. Been too cold out to look further but if you can provide some direction to speed up the troubleshooting process, it would be greatly appreciated.

Just wanted to provide an update on this in case someone else has this problem. It ended up being a seat safety switch problem. I had disconnected the switch and it would still cut off. I later found that the connector is the type that crosses the wires together if unplugged (so someone can't easily bypass the safety feature). I pulled the switch and checked it, it would make and break when the button was pressed in and released. The switch was good, the problem ended up being the bracket that has the switch in it had fasteners that had loosened up a little and therefore, the switch wouldn't get depressed all the way. Only cost me a little bit of time troubleshooting!
