GT2554 battery life?

I recently had to replace the battery in my '06 2554. It made it 5 years and 186 hours which I think is probably typical of L&G equipment that sits a few months every winter.

Just curious as to what others have seen for battery life on their Cubs.

I have an '06 2544 with 205 hours on the original battery. Have never had to charge or jump it. I use it all year round, so it never sits for more than 3 or 4 weeks without getting a workout.

Batteries are kind of tricky unless you buy from NAPA or a dealer.

I replaced mine after 6 years. I am sure the $30 auto advance battery will never come close.

Year round use is one of the keys to battery life IMO. I've started using battery maintainers on things that are going to sit any length of time. Not as good as using them but better than nothing.

I replaced the battery with a $45 Exide GT-X I got from my son's auto parts store. I'm sure it won't last 5 years but we'll see.

I think that 5 years on any battery, even in your car. Is about there limit.

Yeah, I have no complaint about it lasting 5 years. I was just curious...
