GT2550 Won't Start

New to me GT2550, it has sat outside at dealers for a few years, I bought it.
Now have 40 hours on it, went to sttart it and ran very rough, like it was missing.
Shut it off, and not will not re-start. It IS getting plenty of gas, actually have gas running out th e muffler.
Any ideas? I hate to haul this back in the pickup to the dealers, althouhg it has full warranty.

Yup - after sitting that long, the fuel has turned to goop and your carburetor is full of gum, so the float/inlet needle is not shutting off fuel as it should and you are totally FLOODING the engine. When it did run, it smelled like gas and maybe some black smoke, eh? It will most likely require removal of the carb for a thorough cleaning and probably rebuild. I would ask the dealer to come get it, and definitely hold them to repairs under warranty.
