gt245 hood cracked

see about an 8 inch crack in my hood on my gt245- Normal usage-600 hrs and bought new in 2002-made a temp repair and then lined it with weather
stripping to dampen the vibration-------anyone else had this prob

Only saw it once when someone was sitting on it and riding. Kids do the darndest things.

I have a gt 235 and have repaired the hood a couple of times. I used two part plastic glue to attach plastic strips to the underside of the hood. The repaired areas have held up well and I am now more careful with the flimsy hood.

A lot if hoods are cracked from allowing the hood to fall from full open to closed position. At least that's what I was told, so I baby the hood when opening and closing.

You are correct. Another common place for the hood to crack is where you open it, the hand slot. It is best to reach over the and use both hands with a hand on each side of the hood.

well no one has ever ridden on it and it has never been dropped down to my knowledge,just a weak design i would guess-repair works, but this thing cost enough didn't think i would have a cracked hood- weather stripping around the under edge will prevent it though- wish i had put this on before----everyone should consider this
