Howdy All
Not my first post but is my first week.
Like most of you, have been fascinated by tractors my whole life, but have never really owned one myself.
First real tractor I ever used was a kind of mini Kubota - that was the first Kubota I ever saw, mid 80's.... Belonged to my friends grandpa and we used to use it with a bush hog to mow their fields and fooled around hauling logs with it. I think it was a Kubota 7000.
Second was a friend's fathers old Farmall Cub. It was in pretty minty condition and we used to pull a rowboat with it to a lake where we would fish before we had a driver's license.... Also tried to haul wood with it but it was too small to do much....
Third, was a 1950's Fordson Major diesel. Quite a nice old machine that was - was working as a caretaker of an old non-working 640 acre farm and surrounding buildings. Used it alot to mow with bush hog, and also ran a vintage orchard sprayer that I restored while I was there.... Hauled logs with it too...
Lastly, my late uncle left us his Kubota L2250. Or, it was that his wife (my dad's sister) wanted us to have it. She lives nearby and figured we'd get some good use out of it here on our properties. She was right!
Don't have alot of experience running equipment but spend enough time around them over the years to get by. This is by far the nicest one I've ever used.
It has the shuttle shift and 8 gears, and 4WD.
I came to the forum to learn about moving snow and wood with it. So far have found a wealth of info.
