I purchased my JD 2210 last year and I want to grease all the fittings. I read that you don't want to mix certain lubricants, but how do i know what was used before if I can't contact the old owner? Is it best to just clear out all the old grease first to be safe? If so, how do you do that? I understand how to add grease with the fittings, but never took out all the old before.

Thanks

Use a good quality grease & grease until you see the new grease come out.

Ditto on the last response. Use grease containing lithium. You'll be flushing out the old stuff fast enough that a little mixing won't be an issue.

Sorry, meant to say moly not lithium for the grease additive.

If you have worries, regrease the fittings more often at first.

Look at Deere's website on grease:
John Deere Grease JohnDeere.com
They have some greases that are listed as compatible with most others. Personally I use Deere SD Polyurea on just about everything, it seems to be a good all around grease.
