not being a grease guru myself...i am in search of some info.

when greasing the loader, how much grease should i be using? enough to push all the old stuff out? if so, how do you guys get all of the old grease wiped away w/o making a complete mess or using a couple rolls of paper towels?

up till now ive been shooting in enough to get all the old stuff out of the joint, assuming that doing this i am getting all dirt, sand etc out of there so it doesnt wear prematurely.

thanks
John

I grease “just” till the new grease starts to push out the old. I use one to two paper towels to clean / remove the grease fittings (all of them)

I just greased my loader for the first time since getting my tractor back in September. It took a half pump of grease to push out the old grease. I believe that the manual greasing recommendations are very overstated. Just use some old cloths and throw them away after wiping each fitting. It is more important to wipe the greasing nipple before greasing than it is to remove the excess from the outer edges. I am using a white grease that comes from a GM dealership since it is cleaner looking. It works well and is marketed for chassis lubrication.
