Neighbor informed us that one of our tree limbs fell onto his precious property. So, I removed the bush hog and mounted the Mac TPH-122 to shred/chip up the limbs.
In greasing it, I found the top/rear bearing on it was missing the grease fitting; it seems to have vibrated out; threads are there; did not break off. The fitting is a very small one, smaller that the ones I had stored up. Could not get Virginia Tractor on the phone to check with them. Sent them a "contact us" note on their web site, asking about it.
Anyone have a Mac and had to replace one of these fittings? Lowes seems to have the straight (what I want) and 90 degree ones in 1/4" threads and "M8" threads. Told the wife to go in with the straight one I have and ask for one smaller. Didn't have another reason to go today.
Think 1/4" is what I need. Mac stuff doesn't seem to be metric. Think the straight one I have is maybe 3/8" or 5/16", a tad too big.
