I'm having a dealer bring one of these over this weekend for a demo on my lot. It's a very nice looking, well built unit. He has quoted me a price of $6939 on it. I'd appreciate any comments on the unit and the price.

Thanks...

The Gravely ZTR I saw looked well built. If that price is for a 60 or 61" deck it sounds about right. If it if for a 52" deck it seems high. This is in comparison to the prices I saw last spring when I was shopping....so I may be way off base. I would check the price on a similar equipped Scag and Exmark to see if it's in the ballpark.

sportzkat, That doesn't seem too bad to me. What engine is on it ?Here in md. another $60 bucks would get you a 60" gravely w/27hp kohler, but things are priced differently everywhere it seams.

But the thing about good ZTR's is that your paying for the machine itself which of course includes the deck but the deck size isn't the big cost evidently, because there is only a couple hundred dollars difference between a 60" and a 52".

So with that analogy of pricing difference , I would think that a gravely 252 would be priced around $6700 give or take a little.

Reason being I have looked at ZTR's for at least 6mos or more and most of them including the one I finally bought are only about $200 for the next size up (using 48"-52"-60" not 72" its about $300 or more)

Hope this helps /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Sportzkat,

To me, that price is high. I bought a P260z last year for about 200 less than that. I do believe I got an exceptional deal though. As the other posters have said, the 60" is only a bit more pricey and would cut faster. I also think it is the most popular size in that machine for resale purposes. I have always liked Gravely products, and think they still make an excellent ZTR machine. My only complaint with the 60" machine is that with a heavy fixed deck, it would not follow ground contour well and would ridge the lawn if the terrain were not butter smooth. It did cut well (and fast) on smooth terrain. This would perhaps be BETTER with the 52" size.

sportz, My neighbors have the 252 and they love it! They have lots and I mean LOTS of trees and shrubs to cut around on their property and they say it has saved them about 3hrs time every week ,plus that would equate to 3 hrs running time on the old mower which equals 3hrs of gas savings also!!
