I believe it is fairly universally agreed that a LPGS is the ideal implement for gravel driveway maintenance behind a tractor. I am another pretty firmly believes this to be true. How about on the front of a skidsteer?

I have a 3/4 mile driveway and another 1/2 mile driveway. Seems the problem with most of the LPGS style attachments for a skid steer is that they require one to operate in reverse. I do not want to back all the way down, I would prefer to drive forward.

What about something like this?

I have also seen the 斗and sculptor type attachments. Anyone have any experience with them?

To finish, they still go in reverse with that attachment. ^^

Maybe a grader attachment?

So now you have a nice driveway and an old grader junking up your place. Can't win.

I find my 8 foot 3ph Harley leaves a washboard on the driveway although it grades nice. Need to pull a chain harrow over it afterwards, but that's another step.

What ever you get make sure you can put a crown in the driveway. No crown and water makes for a crappy driveway quick.

That is why I have not bought a land plane for the SSQA...............how would you make a crowned drive? At least with the 3pt I can adjust one side higher to push debris to the center.

As far as crowns go, my driveway is 12’ wide or so. I have a defined crown now. If you stay on one side or the other, the machine follows the crown already and matches it. I don’t run the land plane down the center as that would remove the crown.

For re-establishing a crown, you work 90 degrees to the direction you drive and get the count out where you want, then just like above, stay on that grade and you will re-cut that grade. I have a pretty hefty machine (SVL75 Kubota) and it does a good job that way. I have cut driveways with just a bucket and have become pretty proficient at crowning with a skid steer.

If the attachments sole job was smoothing driveways you could weld the SSQA plate on crooked. If you couldn’t order it that way or didn’t want it permanently crooked you could make an adapter to hold it tilted. Or the best and most expensive solution would be a hydraulic tilt plate.
