Grapple Grapple bucket price?

Anybody have any idea what a grapple bucket might go for? Looking for something around 6' for so for a 5000 series JDeere. Take a look at the attachement to see what I'm talking about. I'm thinking this would be perfect for doing some work in the woods, any thoughts? Thanks

I've got one of those from Bodozer at www.borgford.com (see my pic). Best price I found was $2300 for a 5 footer bundled as part of a package with a NH TC33D tractor. I got mine through Deere as part of a 4310 package and their price breakdown indicated $2500. Hard to tell with package pricing though.

Wow, that looks exactly like what I want /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif 'er, I mean need......do you need any extra plumbing for the bucket or does the regular dual SCV do the job? How is it for digging out some roots? Not trees necessarily, but bushes and such...thanks

By the way, that is a SHARP looking rig you got there. I might be tempted to paint some eyes and teeth on that grapple to give a real mean look.. /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif

It does fine digging, but the teeth are kind of course so it won't pick up the small stuff. I've thought of building some sort of chain link nets to cover both sets of teeth to allow it to hold the small stuff while letting the dirt fall through. The grapple is built very strong - it is 3/4 to 1 inch steel. When we built our house the finish excavator ended up burying a bunch of the construction debris in the side of a hill and I've done a bunch of digging to clean it out. The grapple made this work a piece of cake (and a lot of FUN too). It's also great for rolling up slash piles. One downside is that it is heavy, so it reduces the loader capacity accordingly. I haven't found that to be a problem for my needs but I'm sure I can't carry around big logs in it - of course carrying big logs in a CUT is somewhat problematic anyway. It requires a third SCV for operation, the same setup you'd need for a 4in1 bucket I think.

Our dealer had never sold one of these before but he was pretty excited about it. Before delivering the tractor they set it up and took a bunch of pictures and are having brochures printed. Out here where lots of logging goes on this is just the ticket for many small woodland owners.
