I have spent all day cutting down a grapvine and have it down to a cantelope sized root at ground level. Now, How do I kill it? I have heard of driving a small pipe into it and filling the pipe up with diesel and keep it full for a week. What do you guys think? I have been fighting this Grapevine for 20 years, but now it has pissed me off!!!

You are lucky...You don't have bamboo...I would take grapevine over bamboo any day. :D

There were several products available for grapevine control. Have to see how many are available without a license. I think Tordon was labelled as a stump type killer - brush it on the remaining root. Most foresters would have an updated list or contact the county extension office for a current list of products available.

I have soaked cut off roots with 2,4-d then put a bag or anything that keeps the light off the stump, a bale of hay mulch may also work good. May take a few soaks, but you have to totally kill the roots.

Pathfinder II will do it. Just spray on a fresh cut.

Roundup concentrate-full strength- applied to a fresh cut should kill it dead.

Remedy mixed with 2-4-d @1oz each to a gallon will kill most stumps. It is really good for thorny honey locust.
