Like others on the forum I too was unhappy with the way my stock seat collapsed when I sat upon the throne of my new L 5460 cab. I weigh 260 + and felt there must be something that can be done with the stock seat to increase its capacity. I removed The seat and the suspension base to have a look. The base seems well engineered with 4 very stout springs. Like others, I initially thought of getting stronger springs, but research proved that to be difficult. So my next thought was to increase the preload on the springs. The limit seems to be the amount of threads on the adjustment rod combined with the mount that holds it. See pictures below to see what I did. I cut away some of the mounting bracket and treaded the rod another inch or so. The result is the seat now holds my weight. No more hitting the floor when I take a seat. it compresses 1/2 inch or so when I sit on it, and I still have room to tighten up the rod if I need it. I expect I will eventually want to get the aif seat, but this buys me some time for the cost of a 10m x 1.25 die.
