The GL3940 seems to be fine Good power for the loader and does a good job with the 72" blower.

Had a customer/friend trade up from an L3130HST to the L3540HSDC, no complaints that I know of, and believe me I would know if he had any.

I think he's looking for real-world owner experience and comments - something you can't get from the spec sheet.

I got my GL3540 HST LA724 fel a little over a month ago.I was ready to get a GL3240,but decided for a little more horse power.I have to say that the new HST plus on the GLs is the way to go,I was skeptical about the HST plus but after asking other members on TBN and test driving it,(loads of features on the HST plus)I think you will be happy if you get it I know I am.(IMO).As far as the fel I got the LA724.(many of the members here advised to get the 724 and again I am glad I did)I will try to answer your question about power to weight.Please bear in mind that the large majority of work I have been doing is moving large boulders(500-700lbs)across several acres of ground(I have"nt used it to brush hog or any other impliment yet it just does have 5hrs on it)and it performed great,the LA724 fel lifted the boulders without a problem and then I put it in auto throttle and off I went and went and went!!!!!!!!!Love my GL3540.I hope this helped.
