I spent a few hours on the tractor today and had a surprise waiting on the doorstep when we got home. I called my dealer last week about these warranty items, talked to the service manager, and he had no problem shipping them directly to me as I am about 90 miles away. I totally didn't expect a brand new screen, as I thought that wasn't included. My dealer just rose about 3 notches on the customer satisfaction spectrum. Especially when a closer dealer told me I would have to pay for these items. These were shipped to me for free. Unfortunately I won't be able to get them on until Monday, so the install pictures will have to wait.
The 4 year old in the picture had his first day steering the tractor; he finally felt brave enough to try. Yes it was on a flat trail and Dad was on the HST pedal. :D

Just get the brackets on before the fender cracks, instead of waiting 2 weeks like I did. The grips fit like a glove, I still need to get the screen kit.

Is there a part number for the warranty kit?

I had my fender replaced after it cracked and they put the new support brackets so it doesn't happen again but I have a screen that has only fit before I started using the bx24. Does the new one fit well? What else is in the kit and why?

Thanks in advance,

Eric

Singlecoil,

You ain't gettin' off that easy! What's up with those parts? Here's my deal... I took mine in for the cracked fender. I got a new fender assembly, with the metal brackets. I get it home, and realize that the hour meter is reset. I call the dealer, and he says that there was a service bulletin for the fuel gauge, so the whole dash got replaced. That includes the hour meter, so that makes sense. I'm a bit disappointed that they didn't document this stuff, forcing me to wonder what's up.

I also noticed that my throttle knob looks more orange than it was when I took it in. Maybe they replaced it? My screen also doesn't fit as well as it used to. I'm wondering if they replaced that as well(?)

So...

- Did you hear anything about the free dashboard?
- Why is the screen under warranty?
- What's up with the knobs?
- Do I see the "sleeves" that cover the shafts of the 3PTH lever, the PTO engagement lever, etc.? Mine are clear, and are cracked/falling off.

I'm hoping that you can help clear some of this stuff up.

Oh, and good looking kid.

Jesse

The dashboard is part of the kit with the fender reinforcements and replacement lever covers. If your throttle knob is brighter, then it was most likely replaced. All the knobs come in the same kit, so all of them should have been replaced. The clear cracked sleeves should have been replaced with the black ones.

Thanks jesseb,

The knobs were apparently all defective. I just mentioned to the service manager that I heard that there were warranty kits for the grips, step, and battery cover. He sent me all three. My grips are basically disintegating. The throttle knob lost its rabbit/turtle insert and the rest come off in your hand.
My battery cover never fit right. You would get one side in, but it was impossible to get the other side in, and vice versa. The new one looks tighter, but we'll see on Monday.
My fender broke last fall. I replaced it myself since I didn't have a way to get the tractor to the dealer. I would never have known the step/grip/or cover kit existed if it wasn't for the folks here on TBN. I think Kubota should call or write owners and tell them that these fixes are available, but to their credit, my dealer didn't hesitate.
The grip came with every grip, and it seems they replaced the clear sleeves with black ones.
My hour meter also failed shortly after the tractor was delivered a year ago. The dealer replaced that on site when they came out for the seat recall issue. My hours were reset as well.

Installed my step stays Thursday (left) and today (right). The package was missing the 20mm flange bolt for the right side so I had to find a new at a hardware store. Left was easy, even with the mowing deck on. Right was more awkward and didn't seem to fit as nicely but it stabilizes the deck.

The only issue is that the RH stay squishes the plastic pully cover on the mowing deck when I raise it to the top. I was not even able to lock it in an up position until I cranked up the RPM and banged the deck up and squished the plastic shroud. Kubota could have made the stay about 3/8 - 1/2 " shorter and it would have worked fine with the mowing deck. I may cut a little slot in the plastic shroud to get it to fit better.

Dave I think the stay kit is really designed for the new fenders, it is possible there is no interference with the new design....Just a thought....
