I know it works. Ran it through checks /test. It isn't cold here, so I'll don't know how well it will work without any supplemental heat when it gets cold.
When people think of HP, many times there is a supplemental heat source. Not the case here
I run mine on "emergency" all winter. It works fine until the temp gets down about 40 degrees or so, then I have to switch over the the heating elements. We are total electric, and the old 40 year old unit was not a heat pump, so we're used to electric heat. The fireplace is nice too.
Emergency heat ? You run on heat strips all winter ? I bet your elect. bill is pretty high.
They claim this unit needs no supplemental heat source. Should be good down to around -20 deg. I don't think I'll have that issue where I live
Yeah, total electric homes were given a rate break by the electric company when they were built back in the 70's.
