Cmon, dealer mark up is $600.00, and you want to know if it’s good deal ?

The dealer has got to feed his family and pay the rent, oh and still make a profit. You should send him a cured ham as a thank you for allowing you to buy the tractor so cheap.

Consider yourself getting a great deal, and send him a deposit.

You will find a lot of posts like yours if you search the database. Invariably, the loyal TBNr's will ask you what part of the country you are located...prices vary accordingly. Additionally, are the tires filled, does the price include the 50 hour service, delivery, tax, etc.. A few more details would help everyone out.

Personally, I'm not a huge fan of purchasing a new tractor w/o a factory loader. Secondly, I would consider a hydro...much more convenient.

Overall, the price is fair (at best) for my part of the world, so I would keep on looking. My guess is you will get a much better price for a "nearly new" model that has a few implements to boot. My $.02...but, you must consider how much you paid for the advice. Best of luck in your search/purchase of a tractor.

Thanks for the input Bob. I live in the Southeast, SC to be exact. The reason why I was leaning towards taking the dealers advice on the BushHog loader is that he told me the BH 2045 was a heavier loader than the NH and was the same price. Also the BH FEL had these 2 disconect levers behind the bucket that allowed for ataching a bail spear or forks. He also said that BH whould waranty the FEL along with any damage that might occur to the tractor. He said that Woods would not do this and that the Woods FEL was cheaper built. As for buying new versus old. Since this is my first tractor I wanted to make sure I had a warranty. I did price the tractor with the HST trannie and it added $1400 to the price. After looking , talking and reading and then comparing with what I am going to be doing with the tractor. The HST was more of a luxury than a necessity.

Thanks and any additional advice is greatly appreciated.

Thats a very competitive price on the tractor and loader but the 2045 is too much loader for a TC30. I've got a 1720 and Bush Hog recommends the 2246 QT. It is 1 step smaller and is a better fit for your unit.

Go to the search function and look up a guy named Mosley. He tried to put a M245 on his TC33 and it was too heavy for the tractor. The M245 is the older number designation for the 2045.

Several things to keep in mind. The front axel on a TC30 is not strong enough to lift what the 2045 will lift. The NH 7308 is rated at 880# at full lift at the pivot pins for a TC30. On my 1720 they up the pressure to 930# while on a 1920 the pressure is raised to 1030#.

Secondly, the 2045 is rated at 2000 psi with 10 gpm flow. The TC30 does not have that much hydraulic flow so the numbers will be lower than specified.

A good rule of thumb is for the tractor to weigh double what the front end loader weighs at full capacity. The 2246QT will weigh in at around 800# with bucket. If you lift 1000# with it that totals 1800#. The TC30 weighs in around 2500#. By the time you load up the rear tires with fluid and attach an appropriate box blade to the rear you should have a very well balanced machine.

If I was you I would personally contact Bush Hog and get thier recommendation for the TC30. When they tell you it's the 2246QT then take that to your dealer and let him recalculate another price. I've got a feeling that he has a 2045 in stock that he is trying to move.

I would also make sure that the BH warranty spelled out what they would pay for if the tractor broke. And most likly NH would not cover anything that was caused by the loader...and make sure it is in writting. the salesman will most likly be gone or have a memory failure when you bring the tractor in to be repaired....

Thanks for all the info guys. Is the Woods a poorer choice than either the NH or BH FEL's. The loacal dealer has one that I am going to look at this morning and he sells his tractors with Woods FEL's. I assume it is because he makes more money off of them. I am going to take all the part #'s you guys have given me and get prices on all of them.

I guess what I am asking is which FEL will I be better off with between the 3 choices?

Also if I were to offer $14,800 is that a fair price?

thanks
Wade

Woods makes excellent products. He should spec out a 1009 on the TC30. It will have comparable specs to the Bush Hog 2426QT except that it has 102" lift height versus the Bush Hog's 97". Another advantage the Woods has over the Bush Hog is that they have a skid steer adaptor for the bucket which Bush Hog does not have.

You may want to look at the 7308 from NH. I know that the specs only show 880# lift but your dealer can up the pressure to get more flow and lift capacity from your tractor. The NH has a skid steer adaptor for the loader also and will fit up the controls on the tractor very nicely.

I've got a friend who bought a new L3130 Kubota and he has the Woods 1009 on his tractor. This dealer typically quotes this loader with this tractor because it is cheaper than the equivalent Kubota loader by approximately $500. He has had no issues wiht the loader and is well pleased.

$14K - $15K should be the range on price.
