Dealer called with my S/N yesterday and tractor is on a truck out of northern California as i type this. Will be in Spokane Wa. Monday. 3 hr drive to pick it up Tuesday. All the dealer had in stock where Hydro units so this was a special order. XR3037C Gear Tranny, Tires filled with Rim-Guard, Rear view mirror, rear wiper and Sunshade, $25,500 out the door............

Picked it up Yesterday and mowed a job on the way home for 3 hours. Here are my thoughts:


First the negatives....

100* while mowing. A/C worked OK but not icey like i would have thought. Noticed the door pillar on the left side very hot. Going to add a water shut off valve in the supply line under the hood for the summer. This way the water isn't circulating in the heater coil when heat is not needed.

Governor hits VERY hard and causes some surging. I'm used to an engine pulling down and working, not goosing the throttle and letting off every 3 seconds. This may change as it breaks in. Jury is out until then.

VERY noisy. Lots of gear noise. PTO is pretty quiet though. Again, this may change as it breaks in.

Seat needs to be another 2" taller. (I'm 5'11") I have it adjusted all the way and it still seems low. I'll make some spacers for it.

Loader control is in an uncomfortable spot when the seat is all the way back where i like it. Seems as if i have to reach out and up to it. Seat spacers will help the up part. I may fab a new joystick this will come closer to me though.

Loader support tubes under tractor are SUPER low. I can see getting hung up with them.




Positives.....

GREAT vision out the cab! Can see all the way around!

Syncro 4 spd is AWESOME! Can shift it with 2 fingers! Gear ratios are nicely spaced. (wish the L-M-H was syncro'd)

Loader is fast and precise. Nuff said!

Cab control layout is very good other than the loader joystick.

Runs super smooth and has plenty of power for a 6' hog.

Road gear is perfect for cruising.

3 point is super smooth and precise.

Fit and finish is spot on. Found nothing amiss when i picked it up.

Lighting was awesome after dark tonight. I don't see myself changing the lights any time soon.

All around i think it will be a good tractor for my business. Time will tell. I put on around 200-250 hours a year and rough cut around 175 - 200 acres for multiple clients.......

12 HR review....

Surging is gone.

Gear noise is quieting down.

First tank of fuel was .71 GPH mowing.

I have a steering issue but will start a new thread on it..........
