Well I took the plunge this past weekend and bought a Post hole digger from TSC. (based on recomendations from you guys).
Took it home, hooked it up, dug the first hole, and was duely impressed. Man, why didn't I get one sooner! BTW it was on sale for $360 (regular price $385) plus $ for auger. I got a 9" auger. BTW I had to buy a Cat 2 to Cat 1 reducer bushing for the boom pole, then had to grind it a bit shorter to fit the 2210.
The second hole I encounterd a boulder that I had to dig out. It was a whopper, I kept bending my digging bar. Wouldn't you know, It was the first one I encountered (I manually dug lots of other holes already).
That was Friday. On Saturday, I went to an auction being held at a nearby house/home. I was interested in a 3PH snowblower. I'd seen the pics of it on the auctioneers web-site. I figured if I could get it for bid of $500-$600 I would buy it. The front mounted blower for the 2210 is nearly $3000, and new 3PH blowers have been running about $1800 locally. I ended up getting it for $635.25 out the door (yard?). A price I could easily live with. Came with it's documentation and a bunch of shear bolts. This guy took good care of his stuff.
I also picked up (4) R66949 20 KG JD suitcase weights for $57.75 (OTD). They sell new for $35.00 each according to the JD parts site. I really needed some rear weights. These are perfect. They fit nicely on my drag link bar. I just put a couple of 5/8" bolts in the bar to keep them from sliding. Definate improvement so far, and I can easily fit 4 more on the bar. Now if I can only locate 4 more for the same price... /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
BTW, they also sold a JD 650 for $7700 plus 10% buyers premium + tax. I didn't note the hours on it, but it looked to be in great shape.
