I believe that it will still kill you even with a converter on the exhaust...we had several people die from gen-sets running in garages during the power failures.I have killed rats in the ground with a briggs engine and flex hose to the hole.

If I am not mistaken, the catalytic converter vehicle still puts out carbon dioxide. That will kill ya too. In any case, it ain't putting out oxygen.
