I have an 05 chevy 1/2 ton crew cab that I haul a 30 hp TLB and round hay bales with every month or so. Currently I use a ball mount car hauler type trailer. I have been thinking or going to a gooseneck deck over with a beaver tail, or a ball hitch deck over and keep the car hauler.
My question is, how much proformance will I gain with the gooseneck over the ball mount. I know that the truck is undersized for the load but I can't justify running 20,000 miles per year with overkill just to run 500 miles per year with the right truck. My loaded trips are usually less than 30 miles. I would like to help the truck any way that I can.
