Goodbye ol\' B2150
Took the plunge and bought a new B2910 with loader Saturday. It will be coming Tuesday afternoon. I have had a B2150 with a loader for the past 5 years and have loved it. Even with my love of the Kubota I still shopped everything else for the past few months and really liked the John Deere 4300 until I actually drove one with the Hydrostat tranny. Yuck...not near the feel and ease of the 2910. Also was worried about all the quality complaints of the 4000 series. I grew up on John Deeres and remember the problems we had with them, even though they are fine tractors. Even my dad, a John Deere man, loves my little Kubota.
Why dump the B2150? Got the itch, plain and simple. Love the new style tractors (Blue, Green and Orange) with the walkthrough platforms and ease of use with all the control at your fingertips. Love the lever cruise control on the 2910, hated it on the 2150. Like the extra horsepower too. I needed a section 179 tax deduction for our horse farm this year so what better way than to buy a new tractor!!! And the dear sweet wife actually caved in!! "Our tractor is fine, what do you want a new one for?" blah blah. She just doesn't understand.
I hope my 2150 goes to a good home because she gave me 800 hours of pleasure with bushhogging, finish mowing, plowing, harrowing, manure spreading etc. She deserves one. And she has a lot of life left in her.
