Just thought I would share a good service story from the last couple days.
A few months ago, I bought a Wallenstein BX42 chipper from Woodward Crossings. They had the best price I could find and were very helpful in making delivery arrangements.
Yesterday, I was chipping the top of a cherry tree that was still pretty green, so I had a jam. When clearing the jam, I noticed the twig breaker was missing ... snapped off, leaving an open slot in the housing.
Last night I snet Woodward Crossings an email asking how much a new twig breaker would cost, and while we were at it, asking how much a handful of spare shear pins would run.
Today, I got their reply asking if I could send them a picture. Until then, I had not inspected it very closely, assuming it had just broken from use, since it was a replaceable part. So I sent them a couple pictures and realized the weld penetration was not very good. They sent the pictures off to their distributor, gained agreement it is a warranty claim, and made arrangements to have the new twig breaker and shear pins drop shipped direct to me and they are handling all the warranty paperwork.
I am quite happy with how they have treated me in every interaction so far, and will be happy to deal with them on anything I need that they carry in the future.
P.S.: I am in no way associated with Woodward Crossings, just passing along a positive experience for anyone who may be on the fence about doing business with them.
